because while it is true, senator obama did not have a lot of foreign policy experience, what he did to shore that up was to bring in joe biden as his vp candidate. what did mitt romney do? he brought in paul ryan who has even less, if you could imagine that, foreign policy experience except maybe perhaps voting against tougher sanctions on iran while he was in congress. as far as that argument's concerned, i think it's rather debunked. i want to read to you very quickly a quote from mitt romney from that video with the 47%. this is his -- this is his foreign policy in a nutshell. so what do you do -- this is about peace in the middle east. you say you move things along the best way you can. you hope for some degree of stability. but you recognize this is an unsolved problem and we kick the ball down the field and hope ultimately somehow something will happen and resolve it. that's what mitt romney said on foreign policy behind closed doors. whatever he says today in a couple of hours, you got to juxtapose that to that quote in the video when he thought no one else was listening. >>

over the last two years, under the leadership of both senator dodd and casey, the obama administration and congress have provided new key investments in early learning and children's health program, including the $500 million for race to the top challenge fund of over $3 billion in head start, early head start and head start funding and nearly $33 billion in new funds for the children health insurance program, which also expanding coverage to 4 million are children. simply put, strong investments in education and health of the next generation are essential to ensuring the economic prosperity and security of america. and deeper investments, particularly early childhood education is something very personal to me and not just because i have about 50 little kids at my house. at least that's what it feels like. these investments are fundamental in places like washington, my home state of west virginia, actually all over the country, where poverty has gripped families for generations today, nearly one in four children lives in poverty in america. inequality is the highest it's been in a gene

wolf, i talked to senator jack reed, obama ally in the senate. i asked him, you know, how should biden respond when this issue comes up? he said, look, we should broaden the story line about libya. we didn't send ground troops in. we used air strikes. we brought in our nato partners and talk about the positive ways the obama administration handled libya and that biden should point out that paul ryan's most recent budget in the house called for reductions in spending to the state department and he said that could jeopardize u.s. security and that biden should point that out. >> we know that half of the debate is supposed to be on foreign policy, national security. the other half on domestic issues. right now they're introducing the wives of the candidates. soledad, tell our viewers what you're seeing. >> that's right. the commissioner has been really running through the program as they head up through the start of the debate. interesting difference between the two wives. very different women, of course. >> very different, primarily because we do s
